I'm on holiday without my Mac. Right now I shoot in jpeg and use the Apple camera connection kit with the SD card to load the photos onto my iPad. I use Snapseed for some minor PP then upload to my SmugMug account, then I can post to my blog or here or elsewhere no problem.

The NEX-6 firmware Ver. 1.01 is now available on the Sony website. I have not yet installed the update so I don't know what the changes are. Please let us know.

Hm, I'm running 10.8.2 on my MacBook Pro, and the updater ran without a hitch with my NEX-6. Perhaps they updated the updater?

Just updated my NEX-7 to 1.02 on a friend's Mac running 10.8.2 without a hitch.

It makes me quite curious to try out the SELP1650 now.

Sony is offering a firmware upgrade for Interchangeable Lens Digital Camera NEX-7.

    Improvements after firmware upgrade

    Applies automatic compensation to SELP1650
Makes SELP1650 retract immediately after turning off the cameraAddition of capability to enable or disable MOVIE button.
    Improvements from previous version

Addition of exposure settings of bracket shooting (three frames /1.0EV,2.0EV, 3.0EV).
Improvement of response of showing auto review image.
Improvement of image quality when using a wide angle lens.
Improvement of indication when setting “Flexible Spot”.
    Thanked by freddytto.

I don't know how well it works on any camera other than the NEX-6. But it's the only AF lens that I'm keeping (so far).

    1.02 for 5n now available

Just did my update to 1.02 for the 5n. The better bracketing will be nice.

This utility updates the NEX-5N Camera Firmware to version 1.02 and provides the following benefits:

    Improvements over version 1.01:

    • Provides support for the SELP1650 automatic compensation compliant lens
    • Updates the RAW data format version
    • After installing this update, distortion correction of RAW data is available with Image Data Converter version 4.2 or later
    • Adds bracket shooting exposure settings (three frames / 1.0EV, 2.0EV, 3.0EV)
    • Enables the SELP1650 lens to retract immediately after turning off the camera
    • Improves stability for autofocus operations

Benefits provided by previous updates and included in version 1.02:

    • Improves the AF response for situations where the distance of the subject changes considerably
    • Improves stability when operating the camera using the [Lens Compensation: Distortion] "Auto" and [Picture Effect] "Miniature" settings at the same time
    • Improves camera operations when using the [Exposure Compensation] and [Intelligent AF] settings
